The WIRC Reference Manual is a beacon that has
always guided us unerringly in our professional life. I had initiated the
process of coming out with the WIRC Reference Manual in 2004 as Chairman of the
Research and Publications Committee of WIRC, which has now taken firm roots.
Being close to my heart, it is with pride that I present to you thoroughly
revised and updated WIRC Reference Manual 2009-2010.
Looking to our beloved organization, we find that
the ICAI has firmly believed that life is not about always winning but about
always using our abilities to the maximum. This maxim has seen it grow from a
tiny seed to a mighty banyan tree, from an organization to an international body
that is renowned and respected globally. This same pattern can be seen in our
own countrymen who, through grit, determination and sheer desire have carved a
path to international eminence. We have included a few of them in our Manual as
symbols of inspiration so that we too may emulate them and in doing so achieve
our true potential.
Over the past few years our industry has grown –
locally and globally – and along the way we have earned great respect and trust
through our positive contributions to society. But with power comes
responsibility and in today's fluid professional environment, it is imperative
that we remain at the cutting edge, totally aware of every new law and every new
amendment of rules and regulations.
The WIRC Reference Manual 2009-2010 is just that,
the perfect tool that provides you with the requisite information wherever and
whenever required. It has almost all the laws, regulations and the latest
amendments to prepare for any and all exigencies. Every relevant piece of
information and all pertinent knowledge bytes have been included in this
exhaustive Reference Manual. You will appreciate the fact that this manual, with
all its encyclopedic facts and figures has also been made available on a CD.
This CD has been included along with the Reference Manual and is a very handy
virtual reference manual.
This publication has been made on the back of
numerous recommendations and insightful feedback received from our members. I
deeply appreciate the efforts of all the contributors who acknowledged the
various inputs while putting forward their own endeavours at the same time. The
Reference Manual has been put together through the selfless efforts of members who have drawn on years of valuable
experience to present it in the best possible way.
I am thankful to CA. Mangesh Kinare, Chairman of the Research & Publications
Committee and his team, whose outstanding contribution for the preparation of
this Reference Manual. I also thank my colleagues in the Regional Council for
their continuous support and members who have contributed wholeheartedly to
bring about the timely release of the 2009-2010 WIRC Reference Manual.
I am sure that this Reference Manual will prove to
be immensely beneficial to all our members and I look forward to your valuable
feedback so that we may serve our members better by improving and getting
better, year after year.
